I was part of the WWF India Young Conservationist Program for the batch of “2.2”. As part of the same, we were given 3 days of training in fundraising by the WWF team and also taught about wildlife conservation efforts in India.
I was the top fundraiser in my batch successfully collecting 76,000 INR (1020 USD) for the conservation of the One Horned Rhinoceros in India, apart from educating and reaching out to at least 500 people through social media, phone calls, and community centers.
I received a letter of recommendation from the head of fundraising for WWF India as an appreciation for outstanding performance.
This is the message I used on WhatsApp-
Greetings ☀️
A few days back (22nd September) we celebrated World Rhino Day🦏, let us honour our mighty Greater One Horned Rhinoceros.🤩
I am a High School Junior in Amity International School Pushp Vihar, New Delhi. I am part of the Young Conservationist Program of the World Wide Fund (WWF) for Nature India. Our job as Young Conservationists and Future Leaders is to address and raise awareness about the most pressing issue of Environmental Conservation.
WWF India🐼 has been working tirelessly towards rhino conservation since close to 5 decades ⏰ . For years, the Greater One Horned Rhinoceros or Indian rhino has been carelessly slaughtered & poached for its horn. Poaching is the primary reason for its declining population, along with continuous habitat loss.🧐
Rhinos are-
• Important Grazers
• Shaping our Landscape
• Conserving our Ecosystem
We are working closely with Governments and other partner organizations to save this majestic 🎇 being through translocations and to implement the Indian Rhino Vision 2020 to increase the population of rhinos in India from about 2500 currently, to 3000.🤗
In order to continue our work 🌳 (ranging from creating breeding grounds and restoring wildlife corridors to talking with local communities and exercising wild to wild translocation) to protect this majestic, endangered animal, we require YOUR support. We as a Non-Governmental Organisation rely on our generous donors and fellow eco-warriors. 🙌🏾
*YOU can also join our group of Messiahs and become a WWF supporter (with AWESOME benefits) by donating your choice of amount (upwards of 500 रु) through the link below- *
